Around the Town
Card Decoder™ · Lesson 1
The card was never your weakness. It just hasn’t been translated for you yet.
f you've ever sat down at the table, nodded along to every rule, then opened the card and felt your stomach drop — you're not behind. You're exactly where every confident player once was. Nobody ever actually teaches you how to read the card. They just hand it to you and assume you'll figure it out.
You won't. Not because you can't. Because no one's shown you how yet.
Here's the secret: the card isn't one big test. It's a town, split into nine neighborhoods. And before you read a single line, all you really need is a map.
TOWN - The whole card
Think of it this way — your Town is the whole card. Inside that town, your Neighborhood is one section of it (2468, Quints, and so on). Your Street is one line within that section. Your House is the specific tiles that line is asking for. And your Door is the detail — the parentheses, the point value, the fine print.
Keep that in your pocket. Every lesson from here is just one more stop on the same walk.
That's it for today — no neighborhoods to memorize yet, just the shape of the map.
Next, we walk into one neighborhood.
